The Instructional Baseline Assessment

begins your journey with NOCA.  It is a Multi-Skill Workout performed with one of NOCA’s Directors.  Rather than a Cattle Call Tryout, NOCA’s Private to Semi-Private workout serves as our “Tryout” Process.  It gives us a better representation on who you are as a player and allows you to see who we are as Coaches/Teachers/Instructors.  The Cattle Call Tryout is obsolete and ridiculous, so we don’t do that.

Instructional Baseline Assessments allow us to more deeply evaluate players by offering Video Analysis in (3) Functional Baseball Areas:

  • Hitting:
    • Swing Mechanics
    • Timing Bias
    • Cognition Forecast/Swing Adjustability
  • Pitching:
    • Motor Bias
    • 1st Movement Efficiency
    • Kinematic Sequencing
  • Defense:
    • Position Specific Assessments
    • Forecast Timing
    • Footwork Patterns
    • Glove Wielding & Arm Actions

This initial assessment also serves as a great Initial Benchmark to work from regarding a player’s Individual Development Plan moving forward as he ages.

After your Instructional Assessment is completed, we now have an immediate idea as to where you Grade amongst your peers Locally, Regionally, & Nationally.  We can also offer insights into what Defensive Positions you gravitate towards and what specific Movements & “Drills” best fit your training needs moving forward.  We can even offer Cognative Enhancements as well as Targeted Physical Performance Areas to focus on moving forward.

And we can more fairly determine if you grade into our Current NOCA Players & Venues.
